Presidents' Week Celebrations

Happy Birthday, George Washington! Pico Mountain has big plans for Presidents’ Week, with deals and special events straight through February 26. We’ll also be open all week long, with first chair at 8:30 a.m. each day.We’ve been making snow over the holiday weekend, and our groomers have been hard at work on the trails, as well! Pico currently has 12 miles of top-to-bottom cruising, the Triple Slope Terrain Park with 7 features, and lots of wall-to-wall corduroy. Stay tuned to the snow report for the latest conditions information, and we’ll see you on the hill!

It’s been a warm winter in Vermont, and Mother Nature hasn’t paid Pico the snowy visits we’d like. That said, our Mountain Operations team has endured, and we’ve had great skiing and riding ever since our December opening day. Even given the conditions of one of the warmest winters in recent years, Pico’s snowmakers have carried on without hesitation, and they were able to lay down the many feet of snow they’d been planning for Pico’s trails despite the difficult temperatures.

Pico Mountain is offering a free lift ticket with every new helmet purchased at Pico Sports Shop during National Safety Awareness Week, January 14-22. Pico Mountain will be partnering with the National Ski Areas Association to promote a series of special events, contests and giveaways to help encourage responsible skiing and riding.

What a fantastic week at Pico Mountain! Thursday’s snowstorm brought us seven inches of new snow and it’s still snowing – we’ve added an inch today! This storm is projected to stick around through Friday night as we head into the weekend. Winter weather, we’ve missed you!

A big thanks to Mother Nature for giving Pico Mountain low temperatures and allowing our incredible snowmakers to make piles and piles of snow all weekend long! Their hard work certainly shows, we’re skiing and riding top to bottom down 49er off the summit. Plus we’re making sweet turns on two miles of open trails for all ability levels Tuesday, December 27.

Is there a "Hug A Snowmaker" day listed as a holiday on the calendar? Well, there certainly should be because our snowmakers are truly the best! And let’s not forget Mother Nature, she’s been giving us low temperatures and allowing us to ski and ride top to bottom off the Summit.

If you are new to Pico Mountain, welcome and if you have been a long time skier or rider, welcome back for another great season of big mountain terrain and small mountain charm! Beginners should get their legs warmed up on Bonanza and more advance skiers and riders should head up to the Summit and make fresh turns on 49’er’s smooth corduroy.
Pico Mountain Announces Opening Day for the 2011-12 Winter Season

Skiers and riders rejoice, Pico Mountain will be welcoming the 2011-12 winter season with United Way Day on Saturday, December 17. Pico Mountain will donate $20 from every $39 Pico Express Card purchased on Opening Day to the United Way of Rutland County. It’s a great chance for Pico Mountain and Pico fans to give back to an organization dedicated to the community we love so much.
