February Rail Jam at Pico!
Posted by Pico Mountain on January 30, 2010
Pico is a family mountain, but it’s also a mountain for people of every ability level, including those who like to rip it through the trees, play in the natural powder on Bronco, and, of course, throw down in the terrain park.
That’s why Pico is stoked to announce the K-Town Showdown Rail Jam at Pico Mountain! K-Town Showdown is a series of four rail jams at Killington and Pico, with the winners competing for not just prizes, but points! At the end of the series, whoever has accumulated the most points throughout the events will win the grand prize. Plus, everyone who registers early gets a great gift bag from our sponsors.
The event is a laid back format, so there’s no pressure – it’s just a chance for participants to hit some features and show the judges what they’ve got. There will be prizes for the top athletes at the end of the day, but it’s also a great chance to show off your skills, get some experience in a competition, and prove that the terrain park at Pico is full of talent.
The Triple Slope Terrain Park was just opened a few weeks ago, but it’s already been hugely popular. With beginner and mid-level boxes and rails, it’s a good place to practice your style without having to worry about pros flying over you, or other riders dropping in front of you and snaking your line. There's a total of 13 features, including an A-frame rail, a down box, a ride-on box, a down bar, four jumps with a variety of takeoff options, and more.
Registration is already open for all categories online. Note that all participants will need to purchase a lift ticket or have a season pass. This will be the third of four K-Town Showdown events, so don’t miss your chance. Early registration is encouraged.
