Hope on the Slopes
Posted by Pico Mountain on March 4, 2010
If there’s one Saturday to go to Pico, it’s this Saturday, March 6th. We’re hosting Hope on the Slopes to benefit the American Cancer Society, and every guest that buys a lift ticket or participates in activities will be making a donation to the American Cancer Society. Twelve dollars from every lift ticket purchased will go directly to the American Cancer Society, and raffles will be held throughout the day for prizes like a My Pico Season Pass, a snowboard gift package, and more.
The new Pico Race Arena will be open as well, offering timed runs down a professional course . We’re waving the normal cost of racing and opening the course to everyone starting at 1 p.m. Young non-racers will also enjoy the fun with face painting, balloons and childrens activities at the Pico Lodge, plus a free pizza party at 2:30. Donations will be accepted at all events, the race arena, and various locations throughout the day.
Our dedication to this event spans beyond a one-day effort. We’re establishing this as an annual event, much like United Way Days in December and June. Says Matt Porter, Pico Events Director, “Pico Mountain is excited to partner with the American Cancer Society to establish this annual event and help fight cancer.”
Join us all day long on Saturday, March 6th, as we have fun, enjoy the snow, and raise money for the American Cancer Society.
