Pico Park Update!
Posted by Pico Mountain on December 25, 2009
Good news for fans of big air and gnarly rails –
If you’ve been biting your nails waiting for the chance to hit some rails, boxes and jumps, we’ve got your back.
First, the good news: We’re making snow at Triple Slope, and plan on opening the Triple Slope Terrain Park sometime next week!
Now, the better news: Today is the opening of the Timberline Terrain Park off of Ramshead Mountain at Killington, featuring some small and medium-sized features, and the Mouse Run Terrain Park is already open for business with some medium and large-sized features. Looking ahead to next week, we expect the Burton-designed Stash Terrain Park to open for the New Year. Savvy skiers and riders know the goods are in the woods, so be sure to swing through there next week,
So as soon as Rosie and the park crew are done setting up some sweet freestyle areas at Killington, we’ll have them down the road and working hard at Pico. Expect small and medium sized jumps at the Triple Slope Terrain Park, as well as a handful of rails and boxes perfect for just learning, or working on your technique.
In the meantime, we’re working every day on opening more at Pico. We know it’s a special place for a lot of skiers and riders, and we want to make sure that everything we open is covered, well marked, and ready for you to explore over and over. Since we've got snowmaking and over half of Pico open, there's definitely going to be some bumps on the slopes just waiting for you to find them!
As of Friday morning, we’ve got freshly made snow near the base, and (our inside sources tell us) some pretty fresh and unspoiled conditions near the top. Enjoy the sunshine and Merry Christmas!
