A new month has arrived with a roar, and we’re getting the week started in our favorite way – skiing and riding fresh, fluffy powder at Pico Mountain! That’s right, another 5 inches of snow from Mother Nature brings us to a total of 19 inches in the past 7 days. As the almanacs say, March really has come in like a lion, and we won’t mind if this big cat curls up and sticks around for a while.
We’ve had natural snow covering trails top-to-bottom at Pico, and skiers and riders are carving down nearly 2000 vertical feet. Our incredible Mountain Operations Team has been taking advantage of Mother Nature’s snowy work and laying down the corduroy on our cruisers, making for smooth, easy turns.
And perhaps we didn’t mention it before, but those 16 miles of open terrain include some of our best tree skiing – the past week has even seen skiers and riders on our two new 2012 gladed trails.
Pico’s wall-to-wall snow offers something for all ability levels, including a 7-feature terrain park at Triple Slope and gentle learning terrain on Bonanza. The Outpost Area was open over the weekend, too. Talk about a big start for the month!
We’ve been hosting racers and events, including live music in the Last Run Lounge, and we’ve got some great deals to get you out in this snow – check out the 4-Play Pass for sweet lift ticket savings.
You know what to do – keep one eye on the forecast and the other on the sky. We’ll be updating the snow report in real time, and hoping to see you out on the hill!
