Learn a Snowsport Month!
Posted by Suzie Dundas on January 10, 2010
January is national Learn a Snowsport Month, so we’re hosting some great deals and events to get you on the slopes. TODAY, Sunday the 11th is Telemark Demo Day, in partnership with Mountain Travelers in Rutland. We’ll have tele demos all day, plus experts on hand to answer all your questions. You can even take a lesson with the experts at 1:15 for only $15.
If telemarking isn’t your thing, try a snowboard or ski lesson at Pico, available weekends and during the week. If you book your lesson with a friend who buys a lift ticket you’ll both save 50%, so it’s a good way to get started with lessons at a cheap price.
There’s other snowsports around Pico, too, however – you don’t need to spend every day on a chairlift to enjoy the outdoors. There’s local snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, as well as Killington Snowmobile Tours, which offers family tours, scenic tours, and even nighttime radical rides.
Snowsports can also be low-key. If you’ve got an hour or two, grab a sled and find a hill. Everything from trash can lids to toboggans to inner tubes will work.
So think about planning a lesson, and in the meantime, find a way to get outside and enjoy the snow!
