NEW PICO AMENITIES OFFER SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS EVEN MORE REASON TO WISH FOR SNOW
December 11, 2009
Pico Mountain, Vt: The 2009-2010 season brings new features and developments at Pico Mountain, further adding to the big mountain terrain and small mountain charm guests have come to know and love as the resorts kicks off its 73rd season.
Triple Slope Terrain Park: Hit the mountain -- we’ve got a new park set up for skiers and boarders who know a good day means good air. The Triple Slope Terrain Park features small and medium features, including boxes, rails and jumps, meaning you’ve got a place to build big style at a small price.
Beginner Tow Rope: Perfect for those learning how to ski or snowboard, our new tow rope provides easy access to our beginner terrain. The speed and ease offered by this new feature allows our Perfect Turn Ski & Snowboard School students spend more time on the snow and less time on the lift. Make the most out of your lesson this winter at Pico.
More Snowmaking Capability: We’ve got new snow guns this year at Pico, improving the on-snow and aesthetic experiences. We’ll have 75 percent snowmaking this year, with Upper, Lower, and Middle Pike covered in powder all season.
Race Course: Think you’ve got what it takes to beat the pros? Find out on the new race course this season at Pico Mountain. Just like a real race course, there will be a series of flags and markers available for guests to practice their skills. Real pros are able to shave a little time off of each run – can you?
About Pico Mountain:
With more vertical drop than 80% of New England mountains, Pico Mountain offers mogul trails, glades, groomed cruisers and the new Triple Slope Terrain Park, all of which lead back to one classically-styled Vermont base lodge. First-timers can enjoy gentle learning trails and a new tow-rope, while more advanced skiers and snowboarders will enjoy finding their way into the glades on a fresh powder day. Our 50 trails, 214 skiable acres and seven lifts (including two high-speed quads) mean our slopes are never crowded and our guests make the most out of their days.
